Caller: I noticed a discrepancy in my bank account and I think you over-charged me.
Me: OK what makes you believe WE over charged you? What amount is on your receipt?
Caller: Well, I have 2 receipts. One says “customer copy” and it has a total of $73.70, which is correct. And the other shows $67, $6.70 and $73.70. My bank account is short $100
Me: Have you contacted your bank yet?
Caller: No, not yet.
WIDTS: So for a shortage in your BANK account, the FIRST people you call is not your bank, but a store you spent money at YESTERDAY, and the discrepancy doesn’t match the amount of your receipts? Please tell me you’re not a detective or a private investigator. You are? That explains a lot.
